Seventh Generation Green Cleaning Products {Review & Giveaway}

by admin

When it comes to a cleaning my home, I always avoid harsh chemicals! The last thing I want around my children are cleaning chemicals that are nothing more than a hazard, not to mention not eco-friendly. I generally mix my routine up, from cleaning with homemade green cleaners to commercial green cleaning agents. Over the years I have tried many different green cleaning products some of which worked great and others that required way to much elbow grease. When I was given the opportunity to try out the new Seventh Generation botanical disinfectant cleaners, I was super excited. As silly as it sounds, I was actually excited for my stuff to get here, so I could get to cleaning!

Seventh Generation has been around for many years and is know to be an environmentally-responsible company with safe & naturally household and personal care products. I have used their organic tampons for a year or so but have never ventured out to try their cleaning products; until now.seventh-generations-cleaners2-5028084

The Seventh Generation “Disinfecting Cleaning Kit” that I received included a disinfecting multi-surface cleaner, bathroom cleaner, disinfecting wipes, a copy of The Conscious Kitchen, a cleaning caddy made from recycled plastic, and two rolls of 100% recycled, unbleached paper towels.

With kids running in and out all day, germs are always an issue and I like to make sure everything is clean an free of bacteria and viruses. Seventh Generation tapped into the disinfecting power of the common garden herb thyme, to provide a disinfecting cleaner that kills germs* naturally that is EPA registered. The new line of botanical disinfectant cleaners smell pretty good! A very different scent from normal, that has a fresh smell, created by botanical extracts. I have saw comments from people complaining about the scent, but it did not bother me at all.

I LOVE the disinfecting multi-surface cleaner! I have used it on my floors, kitchen cabinets, to clean the sink, wash door knobs, wipe down walls and in place of my current cleaning products. So, I have been able to test it out daily all over my home for about a week now. I even used it to clean up red juice that was spilled on my white kitchen counter and it cleaned right up with no staining!

seventh-generations-cleaners-2354329The bathroom cleaner worked very well. I used it to wipe walls down the sink, clean the toilet and found it to work great. It did not require any more work to clean than any other cleaning agent! So, that is a plus, but I think I would just use the disinfecting multi-surface cleaner in the future, instead of using different cleaners.

The unbleached paper towels worked fairly well compared to other recycled paper towels. My children spill stuff constantly and I found them to be rather absorbent and did not leave any lint on my mirror after cleaning. I do not generally use paper towels, but would purchase these if I needed a disposable clean up product, especially since they are safe for composting.

*Kills over 99.99% of household germs, specically: Influenza A, Salmonella enterica and Pseudomonas aeruginosa on hard, nonporous surfaces. (*See label for full details).

Over-all I liked the products and would purchase them in the future! To help you get started on your spring cleaning, I want to help one lucky reader try out the same products!
